Luciano Civelli and Damien Delaney continued their comebacks as Town’s reserves lost 3-1 to Colchester at Maldon and Tiptree’s Park Drive. The U’s fielded a more experienced line-up and deserved their victory with Lloyd James, Matt Heath and Kayode Odejayi on target, with Town replying via a Ben Coker own goal.

Luciano Civelli and Damien Delaney returned to action after injury but couldn’t prevent the reserves from falling to a 2-0 defeat to Oxford United at Portman Road. The visitors were two goals up via Sam Deering and Richie Baker at the break and the Blues never seriously threatened to get back into the game.

Northern Ireland U17 international midfielder Josh Carson has joined the likes of Luke Hyam, Troy Brown, Reggie Lambe, Jack Ainsley, Ronan Murray, Tom Eastman and Billy Clark in making the trip to Devon with virtually an entire senior team injured or on international duty.
